WHAT IS IT?
The Cox Plate is a 2040 meter race that runs at the Moonee Valley racecourse. This year, the field is running 10 horses, rather than the maximum 14. It is a Group One race for three-year-old horses, and is run under weight-for-age conditions.
WHAT’S AT STAKE?
On a similar scale to the Caulfield Cup, a whopping $3 million is up for grabs. The winner takes home a solid $1.8 million of this.

The Cox Plate is running this Saturday, October 22 at 5pm.

Since this is a huge racing event, you can watch it just about anywhere around Australia. The Moonee Valley racecourse is located in Melbourne’s inner north and is open to anyone to come along.
