Keep your eyes on last year’s champion of the Cox Plate Winx
During last year’s Cox Plate Winx broke the 17-year race record. This year, she is ‘bigger and stronger and hopefully a bit better’, according to Chris Waller, her trainer.
Winx is certainly frightening the opposition with her talent and dedication. This October 22nd, everyone will be keeping a close eye on the mare’s performance. In fact, Winx is aiming to become the second mare to win the Cox Plate back-to-back, in the 96-year history of the event.
So far, Winx has had an excellent campaign. She has made 11 wins a row, smashing each obstacle in her way like it’s no one’s business. This five-year-old mare is exerting her dominance anywhere she can. What’s more, the Australian racing scene hasn’t had a horse like this since Black Caviar. Winx is even comparable to the mighty Phar Lap.
Winx hasn’t lost in around 530 days. It was on April 11, 2015, that Winx accepted defeat for the last time. Since then, she has beaten 124 horses effortlessly.
“If Winx gets beaten she will get beaten by a good horse. That day will come and when it does I won’t worry too much as long as it’s not in the William Hill Cox Plate,”
– claims Waller.
You can be part of racing history this Saturday at the Cox Plate. Don’t miss your chance to see Winx in fine form!
